Translation settings

Where to find it

• Click the QuickAsk icon in your browser toolbar.
• Open the Settings tab in the side panel.
• Scroll to the Translation section.

What you can configure

• Source language. Auto-detect, or pin to a specific language.
• Target language. The language to translate into. We support all major language pairs offered by ChatGPT / Gemini / Claude.
• AI provider. Choose between ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude — the same providers used by the Ask AI feature.
• Display mode. Inline (replace selection), tooltip (hover bubble), or new tab.
• Auto-translate on highlight. When enabled, every highlight is translated immediately; when disabled, you must click the translate button.

How translation works

Translation runs through your chosen AI provider — we do not run our own translation model. Your selected text is sent to the provider you chose; their privacy policy applies. We do not proxy translation traffic and we do not see the text being translated.
